The Kever Foundation is a federal not-for-profit corporation under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, founded by Sarah Kever and incorporated in August 2026.
Our values: Community-led: we work with communities, not just for them. Local voices shape every effort.
Where we work: Canada and Kenya, with the vision to expand to other 3rd world countries.
1. Relieve poverty in Canada and Kenya by constructing and maintaining public and community infrastructure, including schools and clean water systems, for marginalized communities in need.
2. Advance education in Canada and Kenya by providing formal training, tools, instructional materials, and educational workshops to local youth and community leaders.
3. Protect and preserve the environment in Canada and Kenya by implementing sustainable agricultural practices, ecosystem conservation programs, and community-led reforestation projects.
The foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors. Directors serve without remuneration, and all of the foundation's resources go toward its purposes. The Kever Foundation is registered as a not-for-profit corporation and is working toward charitable registration
The Kever Foundation's spirit was at work long before the foundation existed. At just eight years old, Sarah Kever, now one of the Foundation's directors, started Looms for Classrooms, a campaign to raise funds for White Rose Academy in Mtwapa, Kenya, so its students could have desks and chairs to learn at.
Sarah presented the donation to Madame Saumu Mruu of White Rose Academy, watched by her family and the school's students. She had raised about $2,000 at her elementary school in Brampton, and her effort was featured in Coastweek, the Mombasa newspaper, in a piece titled "Sarah's Generous Donation." The money helped the school purchase books, tables, stools and other equipment its students needed.
That belief, that no child's education should wait for want of a desk, is at the heart of the Kever Foundation today.
